CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — A reported Bloods gang member from Crown Heights was fatally shot Saturday at a party near Flatlands, according to police and the New York Daily News.

Shaquil Dunbar, 29, of Crown Heights, was shot in the head Saturday about 4:20 a.m. on Glenwood Road near East 45th Street, according to the NYPD.

He was at a busy celebration at the banquet hall when the shots rang out Saturday, sending everyone to the ground and the shooter running, according to the New York Daily News.

Dunbar was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

His shooter remains on the run, police said Saturday night.

The shooting was a shock to locals who know the party venue as "upscale," the New York Daily News reported. Business owners reported seeing about 200 people running out of the venue, according to the New York Daily News.
