Hear From City Council Candidates At Saturday Forum
Candidates for city council seats across Central Brooklyn will take part in a forum this weekend.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — City council candidates from three districts in Central Brooklyn will appear on stage together on Saturday for a candidate forum in the Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts Gardens area.
The forum will feature candidates in races for City Council District 35 (Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy), District 40 (Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Kensington, Prospect Park and Prospect Lefferts Gardens) and District 45 (Flatbush, East Flatbush, Flatlands, Midwood, Canarsie).
The event, which is being hosted by the Flatbush Tenant Coalition, begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, from Erasmus High School, on Flatbush Avenue between Church and Snyder avenues.

Issues that will be discussed include jobs, education, affordable housing, public safety, youth employment, tenants’ rights, senior citizens’ programs, gentrification and predatory equity.
Incumbents Laurie Cumbo (District 35) and Jumaane Williams (District 45) will be in attendance, while Mathieu Eugene (District 40) will not attend.
