Watch Live: Prospect-Lefferts Gardens City Council Candidates Debate Ahead Of Fall Election
The five Democrats vying for a primary win in September will argue onstage Monday night.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Five candidates for city council in New York City's 40th District, which includes parts of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, will square off in a debate on Monday in the neighborhood.
Candidates Brian A. Cunningham, Pia Raymond, Jennifer L. Berkley and Rose St. Albord, along with incumbent Mathieu Eugene, will share the stage from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at BKLYN Commons on Flatbush Avenue.

Residents were asked to submit questions before and during the debate to 40debate@gmail.com.
The five candidates, all Democrats, will be on the ballot during September's primary election. Since the area runs deep blue, the Democratic primary generally decides the council election.

The seat is currently held by Mathieu Eugene, a former educator and health professional and the first Hatian-born person to elected to the council.
