Here Are Your Crown Heights and Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Cops

Community policing is active in Crown Heights and Lefferts Gardens. Here's a list of the area's neighborhood officers.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The NYPD has been stressing its use of community policing. Under the system, police precincts are divided into four quadrants, with two officers dedicated to each (in addition to the regular patrols in place).

Those two Neighborhood Coordinating Officers (or NCOs) are tasked with knowing their area of responsibility intimately, and being known by their local residents. The NYPD says the approach improves police-community relations, which helps drive down crime.

Each NCO also has a department-issued cell phone and email address, which can be contacted by residents who want to share tips or report an issue.
