Man Charged In Double Shooting Outside Prospect Park: Cops

Jadis Saint-Victor fatally shot a man and paralyzed another when he opened fire near the park last year, according to police and reports.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — The suspect behind a double shooting near Prospect Park last year that killed one man and left another paralyzed has been taken into custody, according to police and reports.

Jadis Saint-Victor, 20, was charged Thursday with murder, assault and gun possession for the shooting, which erupted on the corner of Ocean and Woodruff avenues last August, according to police.

Saint-Victor fatally shot 18-year-old Malcolm Amede, who was on his way to a memorial for an acquaintance who had been shot dead a week earlier, ironically, while also heading to a vigil, according to police and the Daily News.

The bullets also hit a 33-year-old innocent bystander, who was left paralyzed after a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police and the News.

Saint-Victor's arrest comes after he escaped to Indiana, after the shooting, according to the outlet.
