Man Convicted Of Crown Heights Murders After Years On The Run: DA
Andre Neverson faces 50 years to life in prison for the killing his sister and former girlfriend in 2002, prosecutors said.
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man who evaded authorities for 16 years after killing his sister and former girlfriend in Brooklyn has been convicted of the murders, prosecutors announced.
Andre Neverson, 57, was convicted Monday on two counts of second-degree murder and weapons charges for the 2002 slaying of his sister Patricia Neverson and girlfriend Donna Davis, according to the District Attorney's Office.
The conviction comes three years after law enforcement arrested Neverson in Connecticut, where he had been on the run for 16 years, according to officials.

"For almost 20 years, the family and friends of Patricia Neverson and Donna Davis have waited for this defendant to be brought to justice," District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said. "This verdict ensures that this defendant will no longer threaten public safety in our communities, and hopefully brings a small measure of solace to the victims' loved ones."
Neverson, then 38, shot his sister Patricia, 39, in the head and stomach after the pair fought about money on July 8, 2002, U.S. Marshals and police said. She was found later that night.
