Mercedes Hits, Kills Man Crossing Crown Heights Street: Cops

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A Mercedes slammed into and killed a man who was trying to cross a Crown Heights street Monday night, according to police.

The man was struck by a westbound Mercedes sedan on Eastern Parkway near Franklin Avenue about 9 p.m., police said.

Emergency rushed the man — who suffered severe head wounds — to Kings County Hospital where he later died, police said.

The Mercedes driver, a 41-year-old woman, stayed on the scene after the crash and was not injured, police said.

There had been no arrests as of Tuesday morning and the crash remains under investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
