Man Shot In Crown Heights: NYPD

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — A 47-year-old man was shot in Crown Heights Tuesday afternoon, according to NYPD.

The man was shot in the shoulder at about 12:05 p.m. near Rochester Avenue and Prospect Place, according to NYPD. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police had not identified any suspects or made any arrests by Tuesday evening.

Some local schools were briefly sheltered in place Tuesday afternoon, as is protocol for such an incident, according to a representative of NYC's Department of Education. The shooting was not related to any NYC schools, the representative said.
