No arrests have been made.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Authorities are searching for someone who they say shot and killed a man as he was pumping gas in Crown Heights over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, just after midnight, officers responded to a report of shots fired at the BP gas station on Atlantic and Utica avenues.

They found a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said. EMS took him to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

The New York Daily News talked to a clerk who told the paper the dead man had come inside to use the bathroom just before dying.

"He went back outside and put the nozzle in his car," the clerk told the News. "I turned back to the register and that's when I heard the pop ... the man had a look of shock on his face and then he basically collapsed."
