BROOKLYN, NY — Cops are searching for a man who spit on a bus driver before knocking him unconscious in Brooklyn.

The man was riding an MTA bus on Clarkson Avenue near Remsen Avenue around 9 a.m. on Tuesday when he spit on the driver on his way off the bus, police said.

The bus driver followed the man off the bus and the two got into a verbal dispute. The passenger then picked up a piece of wood lying on the ground and hit the driver in the head with it, police said, police said.

The driver, knocked unconscious, was taken to the hospital, where he was now in stable condition. He suffered a serious injury and a contusion to his head, police said.

The passenger, who fled south on Remsen Avenue after the attack, is described as being approximately 20-years-old, standing approximately 5'11" tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light colored hooded jacket, a knit cap, blue jeans, a surgical mask, sneakers and a blue and green backpack.
