Man Who Sucker Punched Jewish Man In Crown Heights Arrested: Cops
The East Flatbush man was charged with assault this week, just over a week after the attack, according to police.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Cops have arrested the man who sucker-punched a Jewish man walking in Crown Heights earlier this year, they announced.
Babyson Dumervil, 24, was charged Tuesday with assault for the attack, which unfolded near Troy Avenue and Carroll Street around 1 a.m. on Jan. 22, according to police.
Dumervil is accused of walking up to a 21-year-old man who was walking on the block in traditional Hasidic clothing and punching him in the nose, police said.

The man was treated for his injuries at the scene and Dumervil had last been seen on Troy Avenue, according to police.
The Anti-Defamation League had offered up to a $5,000 reward for information about the assault.

The incident had been under investigation by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, though the 24-year-old was not charged with a hate crime in Tuesday's arrest.
Dumervil is from East 37th Street in East Flatbush, records show.
