BROOKLYN, NY — An MTA worker was slashed inside a Brooklyn subway station late Monday and is recovering as police hunt for the suspect.

The seemingly random attack happened around 10:39 p.m. at the Nostrand Avenue station on the 3 line in Crown Heights. Authorities say the 64-year-old MTA employee was working in the tunnel on the power for the No. 3 train when a man approached him.

Authorities said the suspect, wearing a black and white shirt, slashed the worker in the neck with what appeared to be a knife, then fled the scene.
