Over 100 Video Games Stolen From Brooklyn Electronics Store: Police

A hooded burglar allegedly made off with Xbox and PlayStation consoles, smart watches, tablets and 100 video games in one fell swoop Sunday.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man (pictured above) who allegedly stole $300 in cash, numerous valuable electronics and around 100 video games from an electronics store on the border of Crown Heights and Weeksville early on the morning of May 15.

According to the NYPD, the man forced the door open to the business, located at 1275 Sterling Pl., and took cash from a register.

He then used a rock to break a glass case, police said, and stole an Xbox 360, a PlayStation 3, five HP tablet computers, eight Android watches, two LG cell phones, three Lenova tablets and around 100 video games.

Detectives described the man as standing about 6-feet-1-inch tall and weighing about 250 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt with a hood; green, white and black sneakers; black pants; and a black book bag, police said.

This alleged burglary took place in the NYPD's 77th Precinct. According to official police statistics, through May 8, major crimes in the 77th were collectively down about 1.7 percent compared to the same time period last year.

A total of 78 robberies were reported through May 8, compared to 92 reported during the same period in 2015.

Both this year and last year, the precinct saw 151 reported grand larcenies — aka, robberies in which the property stolen was worth more than $1,000.
