Woman Killed In Crown Heights, One Arrested: Police

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A woman was killed as she tried to enter her boyfriend's car early Sunday morning, with the killer driver still on the loose, according to police and reports.

Police said that just after 2 a.m., a 46-year-old woman was attempting to enter the rear door of a Jeep Cherokee on St. Johns Place near Rochester Avenue. The driver of the Jeep, Flatbush resident Michael Oddly, 48, began to drive off as the victim was trying to enter, knocking her to the ground, according to police reports.

The NY Post reported that Oddly, the victim's boyfriend, didn't realize she was trying to get into the car at the time.

While on the ground, an unidentified black SUV traveling east on St. Johns Place stuck the victim, police said. The victim was brought by medics to Kings County Hospital, where she was declared dead, officials said.

The victim's name is being withheld until her family can be notified, according to authorities.

Police said the driver of the Jeep, Oddly, stayed at the scene and was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.

The driver of the SUV that killed the victim is still on the loose, police said, and the investigation is still ongoing.
