PLG Coffee House And Tavern Closing As Owners Move To Ireland

The owners are selling the cafe, which they hope will be bought up by another local business.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — PL Coffee House and Tavern, a neighborhood shop that served up food and drinks on the corner of Rogers Avenue and Midwood Street, will close by year's end as the owners plan to move to Ireland.

Owner Annalisa Otto has family there, an announcement said. The shop made the announcement last week on their Facebook page.

"While we are excited about the prospect of a new family adventure, we share this news with heavy hearts," the announcement said. "The café has become our second home. It’s so hard to consider leaving PLG and the café after all the work we have put in and the time we have shared with our friends and neighbors."

The notice says the shop owners want to sell the cafe to a "local family or entrepreneur."

"Before we attempt to sell the café through a broker or real estate agency, we are putting it out there with the hope of finding a local family or entrepreneur who is interested in sustaining with love, and a bit of obsession, the thriving café we have created," the announcement said. "While far from easy, creating healthy food, beyond friendly service and a communal environment, where friends and neighbors share time, is unbelievably rewarding."
