Police Blotter: Supermarket Bag Swipe, $1,500 Bike Theft, More

Supermarket Bag Swipe

A 57-year-old woman had her bag swiped at the Met Food on Vanderbilt Avenue after she put it down to get money out of her wallet. The bag held $150, assorted papers and a bottle of prescription medicine. The theft happened on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at about 7:30 p.m.

$1,500 Unlocked Bike Stolen

A man said his $1,500 Retrovello bike was stolen after he left it unlocked while he dropped off his son at school. The theft happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at about 8:30 a.m.

 

Car Stripped of Tires and Rims

A 46-year-old man said her returned to his 2009 Toyota Camry to find all four tires and rims stolen. He estimated their worth to be about $900. The car was parked on Park Place between Underhill and Washington and the tires were taken on Friday, Dec. 2 sometime between 4 a.m. and noon.  

 

Locker Room iPhone Theft

A man said his $200 iPhone was stolen from an unlocked locker in the locker room at Eastern Athletics, 17 Eastern Parkway, on Saturday afternoon at about 4 p.m.

 

Switchblade Arrest

A 46-year-old man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after cops saw him with a switchblade in public view. After the arrest, police also found a marijuana cigar in his jacket pocket. The arrest took place at 7:07 p.m. on Friday Dec. 2 on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Dean Street.
