Prospect Heights Resident Places Hex on Newspaper Thief

"I just want you to get hit in the crotch by an unridden bike."

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A couple months ago in Prospect Heights, near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Prospect Place, an angry resident — apparently driven mad by the frustration of waking up every morning to an empty stoop where a newspaper should be — paid $4.99 on a "voodoo website" for an internet "spirit master" to place a hex on whoever was stealing his or her newspapers.

"I was very clear that the curse specifically result in a phantom bike slamming into your crotch," the resident wrote in a letter posted to his or her front door and photographed by local Reddit user frequentupswing. (Full letter below.)
