Smorgasburg Returns To Brooklyn 'More Delicious Than Ever'
Some 80 food vendors from Lebanese-Portuguese fusion to vegan ice cream will hit the streets of Brooklyn starting Saturday for Smorgasburg.

BROOKLYN, NY — Beloved summer food market Smorgasburg returns to Brooklyn this weekend, with foods spanning from Lebanese-Portuguese fusion to paella to vegan ice cream.
The massive outdoor market will have weekly stints in Williamsburg, Prospect Park and the World Trade Center, where patrons can taste a total of 80 food vendors.
The Prospect Park location is at capacity with 65 vendors this year, and the waterfront Williamsburg location will host 60 vendors at first full Smorgasburg season since 2019.

"The 2023 slate of new vendors in New York may be the market’s strongest since its 2011 launch, with its global breadth continuing to deepen each season," Smorgasburg organizers said in a news release. "And every Smorgasburg looks like the city where it takes root."
Smorgasburg added over 20 new vendors for its first full season back since 2019, each vendor meticulously chosen after over 60 tastings, according to Smorgasburg. For many, Smorgasburg will be their first public debut — a move that has fared well for other local eateries.

"No platform can match Smorgasburg’s record of launching independently-owned new businesses over the last decade, with thousands of vendors taking their first steps within its family environment and more than 100 graduating to a brick-and-mortar or consumer-product future," organizers said in a news release.
The market will be parked from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays at 90 Kent Avenue and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays at Breeze Hill in Prospect Park.

Some of this year's new vendors include:
- Bibi Bakery, an Iranian-inspired pastry spot, will feature three flavors of baklava ice cream sandwiches and an Iranian saffron snow cone. Organizers called chef Lena Derisavifard's work "artful and delightful." Bibi Bakery will be at both the Williamsburg and Prospect Park locations.
- Everything Oxtail will feature creative dishes inspired by chef Osei Blackett's Trinidadian roots with plantain-oxtail nachos at both Brooklyn locations. Blackett owns a restaurant in Flatbush and pop-ups.
- Keyks World puts a high-class spin on Hostess's beloved junk food, highlighting flavors common in the Philippines like ube, jackfruit and pandan. The vendor will be at both Brooklyn locations.
- Paella Party will serve land-and-sea traditional Valencian paellas in their classing giant pans. According to Smorgasburg, "Venezuelan native Alberto pours his training and heart and soul into rich, aromatic, exquisite paella that are a feast for all to enjoy—whether watching, smelling, or eating. Breakout hit."
