'Summer Wednesdays' Have Returned To Brooklyn
'Welcome Back Brooklyn Summer Wednesdays,' events that promote physical and mental well-being, take place at Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza.
BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklyn residents can improve their physical and mental well-being at "Welcome Back Brooklyn Summer Wednesdays," an event series that takes place on Wednesday afternoons through Sept. 1
The events are hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams' office and run from noon to 1 p.m. at Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza, located at Court and Remsen Streets, a news release from Adams' office said.
They are sponsored by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, the Brooklyn Nets, Brooklyn Health Medical Alliance, Emblem Health, Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, MetroPlusHealth, the New York City Office of Emergency Management, Oak Street Health, and Plant Powered Metro New York.

"We are thrilled to welcome Brooklynites back to our 'Summer Wednesdays' series on Borough Hall Plaza," Adams said in a statement. "After such a difficult year for our borough and city, my office is redoubling its efforts to provide programming that nourishes the body and soul, and allows Brooklynites to gather outdoors in a safe, responsible manner."
The first event, which took place on Wednesday, was attended by about 100 people, the news release said. Brooklyn Cyclones' Sandy the Seagull mascot, Brooklyn Nets Team Hype and Batalá NYC were in attendance, and it featured games courtesy of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.

"The Brooklyn Nets are proud to work alongside Borough President Adams and his office to create fun and educational events for Brooklynites," BSE Global CEO John Abbamondi said in a statement. "Events like Summer Wednesdays are a great opportunity to bring our community back together following the unprecedented year we all experienced."
