An innocent, 16-year-old bystander was hit in a Prospect Heights shooting in May, police said.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, NY — A 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday after a double shooting in Prospect Heights that hit a bystander, police said.
The teenager now faces two attempted murder charges related to a May 31 double shooting on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Franklin Avenue that left a 16- and 17-year-old with injuries, according to the NYPD.
About 9:25 a.m., two strangers approached the 17-year-old and started to fight with him, hit him in the face, and shot him in the arm as he ran away — also hitting a 16-year-old girl twice in the leg, police said.
