Teen Charged With Crown Heights 17-Year-Old's Murder: NYPD

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — A 16-year-old accused of fatally shooting a Crown Heights teen he didn't know has been charged with murder, police said Wednesday.

The teen was arrested Wednesday about three weeks after Graig Bassett, 17, was shot in the chest near Saratoga Avenue and Prospect Place the afternoon of March 15, NYPD said.

Bassett was shot just down the street from his apartment, then rushed to Interfaith Medical Center where he later died, according to police.
