Trailer Released For 'Crown Heights' Movie

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Amazon Studios has released a trailer for its upcoming award-winning movie "Crown Heights," about a story about a man from the neighborhood wrongfully convicted of murder.
The critically acclaimed film won the Sundance Festival's Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic features in January.
The movie stars Lakeith Stanfield and former Pro Bowl NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who tell the true story of Colin Warner (Stanfield), a Crown Heights resident who is wrongfully convicted of a murder in Flatbush, and his best friend Carl ‘KC’ King (Asomugha), who devotes his life to setting him free.

The film, written and directed by Matt Ruskin, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January to positive reviews. Amazon bought the rights to the film for more than $2 million following the strong showing at Sundance.
It will be released on August 25.
