Wild Video Shows Would-Be Car Thief Slam Into MTA Bus In BK: Cops
The video shows someone trying to steal a car in Brooklyn crash into a bus and another car as the owner hangs from the window.

BROOKLYN, NY — A wild video released this week shows a would-be car thief crash into an MTA bus and another car while the owner hangs from the window, trying to wrestle back the wheel, according to police.
The chaotic incident unfolded at 8:30 a.m. on July 29 when a 56-year-old man left his car parked with the engine running on Nostrand Avenue in Midwood to use the ATM, according to police.
While he was withdrawing money, the would-be thief got into the driver's seat, trying to drive away as the owner ran up and tried to wrestle back the wheel through the open window, according to police and video.

With the car's owner hanging from the window, the thief slammed the car into an MTA bus across the street and then backed it into another car, video shows.
At one point, the person gets out of the car and starts to run away as the owner chases him, returning to try and steal the car a second time before escaping for good down Nostrand Avenue, according to police.

The car's owner was taken to Mt. Sinai Brooklyn Hospital after the incident with minor injuries from the incident, police said.
They said the suspect is 16 to 20 years old with braids and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black jeans and black and white sneakers.
