Woman Sexually Assaulted At Prospect Park Subway Station: Cops

The attacker grabbed the 23-year-old woman when she was walking down the stairs to the Q train, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman who was sexually assaulted at the Prospect Park subway station last week narrowly escaped when a passerby happened to interrupt the attack, according to police.

The 23-year-old woman was walking down the stairs to the Q train just after 7 a.m. last Thursday at the Prospect Lefferts Gardens station when the man grabbed her from behind and threw her against bars separating the staircase and the train platform, according to police.

The man put his hand over the woman's mouth and started to rip at her clothing and touch her, police said.

The attack stopped when another straphanger walked by and the man fled, police said.

Police said the suspect is approximately 6'0" tall, weighs 155 pounds and has a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, a yellow hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants:
