13 New Food Cart Sites Announced For Queens

QUEENS, NY -- Food trucks and carts can soon serve up cuisine at more than a dozen new parks and playgrounds throughout Queens.
The NYC Department of Parks and Recreation announced on Tuesday that it was accepting bids for mobile food vendor permits for 29 new sites across the city's five boroughs, 13 of which are located in Queens.

- Frank Golden Memorial Park in College Point
- Creedmoor Farm Park in Queens Village
- Travers Park in Jackson Heights
- Newcombe Square in Kew Gardens
- Elmhurst Park in Elmhurst
- Poppenhusen Playground in College Point
- Veterans Grove in Elmhurst
- Newtown Playground in Elmhurst
- Dr. Charles R. Drew Memorial Park in Jamaica
NYC also announced requests for proposals at six new food vendor sites in Brooklyn, four in Manhattan, four in the Bronx and two in Staten Island. The new sites make for a total of RFPs at 146 sites citywide this year, 34 of which are in Queens.
The five-year permits would run annually from January through December, starting Jan. 1, 2018, andending Dec. 31, 2022. The mobile vendor permits are open to non-processing, processing and ice cream carts, NYC Parks said.
