6 Suspects Sought For Taking NYC Subway Train On Joyride: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — Police are searching for six individuals who allegedly stole a subway train in Queens and took it for a joyride.

The NYPD releases surveillance images of the suspects on Wednesday.

The incident happened last Saturday around 10:20 p.m. at the 36th Street and 4th Avenue subway station, police said.

Six unidentified individual gained entry to an unoccupied "R" train and then proceeded to operate the train down a tunnel.

The group also damaged glass panels on the train's camera before getting off the train and fleeing on foot, police said.

An MTA employee reported the incident to police, who responded to the scene.

The MTA has said they are working with the NYPD to identify the suspects.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon.
