QUEENS, NY — A man knifed a Rikers Island clinician Saturday while behind bars on accusations he fatally stabbed a straphanger, according to reports.
Claude White, 33, attacked a mental health clinician with a 9-inch piece of sharpened metal, the New York Daily News first reported, citing multiple sources.
The social worker, 52, was stabbed three times in the face and once in his left arm, the report states. He received stitches for his wounds, the Daily News reported.

White faces a murder charge in the June 17 stabbing death of Tavon Silver, 32, on board an early morning 4 train, authorities said.
As the train rolled toward the Union Square station about 4 a.m., a passenger found an unconscious Silver bleeding from stab wounds in his chest, police said.
