QUEENS, NY — An Amazon vest-wearing burglar broke into at least nine homes across Queens, police said.

The as-yet-unidentified thief scored nearly $32,000 worth of cash and goods in the breaks-in stretching from September to this month, NYPD officials said.

Police asked for the public's help Tuesday to identify the burglar, who is a man last seen wearing an Amazon delivery vest, authorities said.

The reported burglaries began Aug. 24 when a man forced open a window and entered a home near 21st Street and 46th Avenue in Long Island City, police said.

He snatched $6,000 before running off, authorities said.

Another burglary unfolded Sept. 29 in Sunnyside, near 39th Place and 43rd Avenue, where the burglar again forced open a window, officials said.

This time, he grabbed $2,800 in cash and $480 worth of property, police said.

The burglaries continued Jan. 19, when police said the thief broke into an Astoria home — again, through a window — near 43rd Street and 25th Avenue and grabbed cash and property, authorities said.

The thief scored $4,400 worth of jewelry during another Astoria burglar Jan. 26, near 37th Street and 28th Avenue, police said.

The burglar came up shorthanded during a Jan. 30 break-in near 27th Street and 41st Avenue, officials said.

But this changed during four successive burglaries between February and March in which the thief netted a combined nearly $19,000 worth of cash, jewelry and other property, police said.

Those break-ins were:

  • Feb. 15 near Crescent Street and 30th Avenue, in which $525 of jewelry and other property were stolen
  • Feb. 21 near 39th Street and 43rd Avenue, in which $2,500 in cash was stolen
  • Feb. 28 near 39th Place and 43rd Avenue, in which $9,000 of cash and $1,800 worth of property was stolen
  • and March 5, in which $200 cash and $6,500 worth of jewelry and other property were stolen

The burglar entered each home through a window, police said.
