Auburndale Man Who Fatally Shot 29-Year-Old In Jamaica Arrested: NYPD
Damion Howell, from Auburndale, was charged with murder after he shot 29-year-old Julian Askew in August 2022, police said.

QUEENS — A 39-year-old man was arrested after he fatally shot a man in Jamaica nine months ago, police said.
Damion Howell, from Auburndale, was charged with murder after he shot 29-year-old Julian Askew dead on Aug. 5, 2022, in front of 106-17 Waltham Street, near Tuskegee Airmen Way, around 1:50 a.m., the NYPD said.
In December, authorities released images of two suspects in the shooting.

Askew was found shot in the torso last year and was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he died, police said.
The 29-year-old was fighting with the two men before they shot him and fled, the NYPD said.
