Large Fire Erupts In Queens Bagel Shop, FDNY Says

Smoke eaters battled a two-alarm blaze inside a Myrtle Avenue bagel store Tuesday morning, according to the FDNY.

QUEENS — Firefighters battled a large blaze in a Queens bagel shop early Tuesday morning, according to the FDNY.

The second-alarm fire erupted in the rear kitchen of Glendale Bagels at 69-35 Myrtle Ave. about 4:20 a.m., the FDNY said.

The fire damaged the first floor's ceiling and windows, exposing the building's beams, according to Buildings department records. The flames also caused sagging to the roof and water damage, records show.

Video posted to Citizen shows large plumes of grey smoke wafting into the night sky above the shop.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, the FDNY said.

An FDNY alert shows the flames were under control by 5:50 a.m.
