Brutal Queens Rooftop Rape, Robbery Leads To Charges Against Man: DA
Jerson Vasquez, 23, paid a woman $150 for sex before he beat her, raped her and stole the money back Aug. 13, prosecutors said.

QUEENS, NY — A Queens man brutally raped a woman on a rooftop after paying her $150 for sex, which he stole back after the bloody attack, prosecutors said.
Jerson Vasquez, 23, appeared for arraignment in Queens court Wednesday on a slew of charges, including rape, robbery and strangulation.
The charges stem from an Aug. 13 attack on a Jamaica rooftop that left a woman sex worker hospitalized with a cut to her head that required staples to close, among other injuries, prosecutors said.

“The charges portray a brutal and dangerous sexual predator," said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
Vasquez and the woman crossed paths after he responded to a Facebook Marketplace ad for what authorities called "prostitution-related services."

He asked her to come to the roof of a 93rd Avenue address, where he gave her $150, prosecutors said.
But the paid sex turned violent as Vasquez grabbed her from behind, choked her and slammed her head into a concrete wall, authorities said.
Vasquez then demanded the $150 back before he punched her in the face, took the cash and then sat on top of her while he slammed her head onto the rooftop and choked her, prosecutors said. He then raped her again, authorities said.
Authorities said Vasquez also took her phone before he ran off. Video showed him leaving the building with what appeared to be blood on his neck and hand, prosecutors said.
The woman went to a local hospital and was admitted for treatment for a cut to the back of her head, bleeding, "substantial pain" and bruising and swelling to large areas of her head, face and neck, officials said.
Vasquez faces up to 25 years in prison if he's convicted.
