Colin Kaepernick Makes Surprise Trip To Queens To Give Suits To Former Prisoners

The former 49ers quarterback teamed up with 100 Suits for 100 Men to help former prisoners.

JAMAICA, QUEENS — Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made a surprise visit to Jamaica to hand out 50 suits to former prisoners looking for jobs.

Kaepernick, who is currently a free agent, teamed up with 100 Suits for 100 Men, an organization formed "to reduce prison recidivism rate and repeat offenses in convicted felons through gainful employment," over the weekend.

Kaepernick called the group's founder Ken Livingston out of the blue Saturday, Livingston said.

“I get a phone call on Saturday that said, ‘Hey, we’re in your area. Come to your office,’ Livingston said in a TMZ video.

“And all you see is a big black SUV come up and Colin Kaepernick comes out himself and has two huge sized U-Haul boxes of custom-made suits for the men in my community."

"The suits are going to people who just came home from prison. So mind you, put their suit jacket on and look inside their pocket, it says 'custom made for Colin Kaepernick' — just imagine what it does to that person's psyche," he added.

Kaepernick made headlines after he refused to stand for the national anthem before a 49ers game last year as a protest against police brutality experienced by African Americans.
