Suspect Sought For Attacking Taxi Driver In Queens: Police (patch.com) — Queens residents are being urged to help police identify a suspect who allegedly punched a 72-year-old taxi driver in the head near 10th Street and 36th Avenue before fleeing on foot. The victim was treated at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital, and investigators have released surveillance images and Crime Stoppers contact information as they seek tips.
   

2. Diocese of Brooklyn, Parishioners Discuss Increasing Parish Collaboration (thetablet.org) — Catholic parishioners from several Queens neighborhoods, including Woodhaven, Ozone Park, Whitestone, and Long Island City, are being drawn into a diocesan process that could eventually merge their parishes. Diocesan leaders are starting with collaboration and shared ministries now, while warning that future stages may bring shared pastors and possible church closures.
   

3. Jamaica man criminally charged with sex trafficking, rape and strangulation of victim at Pomonok Houses in Fresh Meadows: DA (qns.com) — A Jamaica man has been indicted in Queens Supreme Court on sex trafficking and related charges after allegedly abusing a woman he moved into Pomonok Houses and taking her earnings from work at a Queens motel. Prosecutors say the victim later reported being choked unconscious, leading to his arrest and high bail, while the DA urges other potential trafficking victims in Queens to seek help.
   

4. Duo wanted for knifepoint robbery of two 16-year-old boys on Q22 bus in Rockaway Park: NYPD (qns.com) — Two 16-year-old boys were robbed at knifepoint on a Q22 bus near the NYC Ferry landing in Rockaway Park, and police are asking Queens residents for tips to find the suspects. The teens were not injured, and NYPD data show robberies and transit crimes in the 100th Precinct are actually down compared to last year.
   

5. Manfredi designs a new public library in Rego Park, Queens (archpaper.com) — Rego Park’s busy Queens Public Library branch is being demolished and rebuilt as a larger, three-story, LEED-targeted facility designed by Weiss/Manfredi, with completion expected in late 2028. During construction, a mobile library and nearby branches will serve residents, while the new design emphasizes accessibility, sustainability, and an art installation inspired by Queens’ native plants.
