GrowNYC and the Greater Flushing Chamber of Flushing launched the 2023 season of Flushing Greenmarket at Bowne Playground, located at Sanford Avenue and Union Street in Flushing, Queens. This year, the market will be open every Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., until November 29, 2023.

Flushing Greenmarket at Bowne Playground, will bring fresh offerings from local farms to the community and features farmers selling baked goods, eggs, cider, orchard fruit and a bounty of vegetables. The weekly producers and farmers at this location include:

  • Breezy Hill Orchard and Knoll Krest Farm: fruit, cider, baked goods, eggs, pasta, soups from Dutchess County, New York.
  • R & G Produce: fresh vegetables, including garlic, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and corn from Orange County, New York.

GrowNYC's Greenmarket works to preserve local farmland, while ensuring that New Yorkers have access to fresh, healthy food grown in our region. GrowNYC ensures product integrity: everything sold at its greenmarkets is 100 percent farmer grown, produced, caught, or foraged in the local region. Farmers interested in selling their products at the Flushing Greenmarket can get more information and apply at grownyc.org.

The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce is partnering with GrowNYC to promote the Greenmarket and organize community programming, including art exhibits, puppet shows, musical performances and educational events for local residents and entrepreneurs. The market will host regular cooking demonstrations, free recipes, and seasonal celebrations.

“We are delighted to host the 8th season of our Flushing Greenmarket,” stated Alice Lee, Chairwoman of the Chamber’s Advisory Board. "In addition to connecting our community with local farmers, we will be featuring the work of local artists to showcase their innovative work and to encourage more people to visit our business community."
