Construction Worker Dies After Fall Off Queens Bridge Onto Highway: PD
A construction worker fell off the Roosevelt Avenue Bridge and landed on the Van Wyck Expressway Tuesday morning, police said.
QUEENS — A construction worker fell off a bridge in Queens Tuesday morning and was fatally hit by a vehicle on the highway below, police reported.
The worker fell from the Roosevelt Avenue Bridge onto the northbound lane of the Van Wyck Expressway where he was struck about 10:20 a.m., police said.
The injured worker was rushed in critical condition to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, according to the NYPD. He was pronounced dead at 10:52 a.m, police reported.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
