QUEENS, NY — A couple's hour-long public fight along a Queens street ended in a bloody murder-suicide, according to police and reports.

A man, 46, shot a woman, 42, in the head Thursday before he turned the gun on himself on 101st Avenue near Drew Street, the New York Daily News first reported.

Police arrived about 5:40 p.m. to find the pair unconscious with gunshot wounds in their heads, authorities said. Medics rushed them to Jamaica Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.

The suspected murder-suicide unfolded after a very public row between the man and woman, the Daily News reported.

Neighbors heard them arguing on the street along the Queens-Brooklyn border for more than an hour before they saw the man draw a handgun, according to the report.

The man shot the woman before he put the gun to his own head and pulled the trigger, the report states.

NYPD officials told Patch the case is under investigation.
