Cuomo To Fundraise For Melinda Katz's Queens DA Bid: Report
Governor Andrew Cuomo will appear at a Manhattan fundraiser for Queens Borough President Melinda Katz's campaign to become the borough's DA.

QUEENS, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo is the latest high-profile figure to get involved in the competitive race to determine who becomes Queens' next district attorney.
Cuomo will fundraise to support Queens Borough President Melinda Katz's campaign for DA, according to a report by State of Politics. The governor is due to appear at a June 10 fundraiser for Katz in Manhattan.
Katz so far has led fundraising in the crowded race, the Queens Eagle reports, though her coffers also include money rolled over from prior campaigns. Katz already has the support of the powerful Queens County Democratic Party and its new leader, Rep. Gregory Meeks.

The seven-way Democratic primary on June 25 is expected to determine who will serve as the borough's next district attorney, a spot previously held by Richard A. Brown for nearly three decades.
The winner of the primary will face the lone Republican candidate, Daniel Kogan, in November, though current Democratic candidate Betty Lugo has said she's open to running as a Republican in the general election.
