Dozens Of Ghost Guns, Kits Seized From Glendale Man: DA

Grzegorz Blachowicz was arrested after authorities found unserialized firearms commonly known as "ghost guns" at his home.

QUEENS — A man from Glendale was arrested after police seized dozens of firearms and kits to assemble weapons last week, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.

Grzegorz Blachowicz, 36, was arrested after authorities found unserialized firearms commonly known as "ghost guns" at his home on 64th Lane, near 74th Avenue, and at a storage facility on Wednesday, prosecutors said.

He faces 131 counts of criminal possession of a weapon and other charges, Katz said.

The arrest was part of a long-term investigation looking into the purchase of components to build ghost guns, which are assembled without serial numbers and facilitate skirting background checks, the district attorney said.

Blachowicz is scheduled to return to court, where he faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted, prosecutors said.

At Blachowicz's home, police found a fully-assembled semiautomatic weapon, three ghost gun kits, several firearm components, and manuals on how to build the weapons, among other items, Katz said.

At the storage facility, authorities found nine complete ghost gun assault weapon build kits, 24 assault rifle lower receivers, and thousands of rounds of various ammunition, among other components, the district attorney said.
