Off-Duty EMT Arrested After Assaulting Girlfriend: Police
The man received a 30-day suspension from the FDNY.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — An off-duty FDNY EMT was arrested and charged after he assaulted his girlfriend Tuesday afternoon around 1.30 p.m., according to police.
Peter Matura, 31, allegedly stabbed his girlfriend in the abdomen and stole her phone in a home at 50th Avenue. The victim was listed in stable condition, police said.
Matura was charged with assault, grand larceny, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, an NYPD spokesman said.

The assailant was suspended from the FDNY without pay for 30 days, the maximum amount, said an FDNY spokesman.
