Off-Duty NYPD Officer Shot After Attempted Carjacking In Queens
The identity of the police officer has not been released.
QUEENS, NY — An off-duty NYPD officer was shot and injured during an attempted carjacking in Queens on Sunday.
The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of 43rd Ave. and 21st St. in Astoria, police said.
The 25-year-old officer was driving a BMW sedan when the attempted carjacking took place. One of the suspects fired a shot into the car's front windshield, before the cop sped off.

The officer suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Queens, police said.
The two suspects, Marvin Dankwah, 26, and Denzel Brown, 29, fled in a Nissan Sedan and were later apprehended in Flushing after the incident.

Both men have been charged with second-degree attempted murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
