DWI Charges For Driver In Deadly Queens Crash: NYPD
The early Sunday crash claimed a 23-year-old Long Island woman and seriously injured two other women, police said.
QUEENS, NY - A Long Island man has been charged with driving under the influence in a deadly crash on the Long Island Expressway in Queens early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Reginald Nash, 24, of Roosevelt, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated following the crash on the eastbound Long Island Expressway at Greenpoint Avenue, police said.
An NYPD investigation into the crash found Nash’s 2021 Honda Accord struck a crash cushion at the Greenpoint Avenue overpass about 4:30 a.m., police said. Five individuals were inside the Honda Accord at the time of the crash.

As a result of the hit, the crash cushion moved out of place, resulting in a 2018 Toyota Rav-4 driven by a 44-year-old man crashing into the Honda Accord.
The 2018 Toyota Rav-4 then struck a 2021 Kia Telluride operated by a 51-year-old male, police said.

A 23-year-old female passenger, later identified as Cameron Mency of North Baldwin, was ejected from one of the vehicles and was later pronounced dead at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, police said.
Two women between the ages of 22 and 36 years old were rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical condition.
The operators of all three vehicles remained at the scene and didn’t report any physical injuries, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
