An 'Eggnormous' Easter Party | Queens Events This Weekend

Celebrate Easter hunting balloon eggs, at a beachside church service or inside a night club. Queens has you covered.

QUEENS, NY -- Easter weekend is upon us, filling the next few days with countless egg hunts, food comas and church services.

If you're still unsure about your holiday plans, Patch has put together a list of the most unique Easter events throughout Queens.

And to those who don't observe the holiday, not to worry! There are plenty of fun-filled events across the borough for you, too, like gong meditation and petting cute puppies (though, unfortunately, not at the same time.)

Hot Yoga & Gong Meditation

Neighborhood: Rego Park

What: Join Michael for a sound meditation experience with a special edition Hot Yin and Gong combo. The two-hour class costs between $5-$10 for member of the yoga studio or $30 for non-members.

Hand Embroidery Workshop

Neighborhood: Ridgewood

What: Take an afternoon to master the art of hand embroidery at this Queens studio, where you'll create a six-inch embroidery hoop of your favorite state or country. Book your spot in the workshop for $40.

Forró Party With Live Music

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: Mark your calendar's for this self proclaimed "best forró in the city. The Boston-based Os Forrozeiros dance group will lead this salsa class with special guest Wanderson Terterelho. It will also feature live music by Eduardo P. De Carvalho. Cover charge is $25 and wine and beer will be available for $5 throughout the event.

Women In Media Summit

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: Necessary Studios presents its first ever woman's empowerment summit, giving women in all forms of media production a space to connect with one another. All are welcome to attend this free event, which will include a panel discussion, short film showcase, mini makeovers, headshots, vendor tables and musical performances.

Where: 25-19 Borden Ave.

When: Saturday, March 31, 3 - 9 p.m.


Jackson Heights Adoption Event

Neighborhood: Jackson Heights

What: Animal Care Centers of NYC will be at Petco with great cats and dogs available for adoption. Animals come with vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an ID tag, a collar and a certificate for a free initial vet exam. 'Eggnormous' Kids Easter Party

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: Grab your Easter basket and hop on over to this self-proclaimed "No.1 kids party in Queens." There will be bubble rain, balloon egg hunts, a magic show, clown performances and more surprises at this Easter celebration, where the Easter bunny himself will even stop by for a meet-and-greet. Tickets cost $25.

When: Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1, 11:30 - 2 p.m. and 3:30 - 6 p.m.


Easter Service On The Boardwalk

Neighborhood: Rockaway Beach

What: Join House On The Rock for its third annual Easter on the Boardwalk service, where there will be live music, an encouraging Easter message and an 1,800-egg Easter Hunt - supposedly the largest in NYC.

Where: Meet at the boardwalk near Beach 94th/95th streets

When: Sunday, April 1, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Easter Glow and Dance Kids Party

Neighborhood: Elmhurst

What: The little ones will be taking over Amadeus Nightclub for this unlikely Easter bash, featuring dance and DJ lessons, live performances, glow sticks, face paint and more. Kids will get the full nightclub experience, complete with lights, sounds and a cash - soft drink - bar. But don't worry mom and dad, there's an actual cash bar upstairs for you, too. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
