Elmhurst Man Struck By Pickup Truck In North Corona, Dies: NYPD

QUEENS — A 55-year-old man died earlier this month after he was struck by a pickup truck in North Corona, police said.
Luis Cayancela Paredes, from Elmhurst, was crossing Roosevelt Avenue, near 111th Street, when the driver of a 2021 Toyota Tundra drove past a green light and struck him on Feb. 5 about 8 p.m., authorities said.
Cayancela Paredes suffered head trauma, and was taken to the New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he died on Feb. 8, the NYPD said.

The 44-year-old driver remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made, police said.
