Enroll In 'Rent Freeze' In Corona Tonight
Those eligible may be paying the same rent in 20 years.

CORONA, QUEENS — Senior citizens and disabled individuals will be able enroll in the NYC Rent Freeze Program 5 p.m. on Monday during an event held at the Queens Library at Lefrak City, located at 98-30 57th Ave. in Corona.
The NYC Rent Freeze Program provides those eligible for the program with a property tax credit that covers the difference between the actual rent and the 'frozen' rent. Those that enroll now and continue to renew their enrollment could be paying the same rent in 20 years, according the NYC Rent Freeze Program website.
If you are a senior citizen above the age of 62, living in rent-regulated housing, earn $50,000 a year or less and spend more than a third of your income on rent, you are eligible to enroll in the NYC Rent Freeze Program through the SCRIE.
