Hit-And-Run Driver Kills Man After Striking Him Twice In Queens, Police Said

The suspect hit the man, then ran him over again before driving off, police said.

QUEENS, NY – A driver hit and killed a man in Queens Sunday, running him over a second time before fleeing the scene, police said.

Officers found Pedro Perez, 51, from Jackson Heights, lying unconscious in the road in Corona after the suspect, who was driving a black sedan on Roosevelt Avenue, struck him near 112 Street around 5 a.m., according to police.

Perez was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said they didn't know if the driver intended to hit the victim, but that he was he run over twice by the same vehicle.
