Irish Woman's Boyfriend Faces Murder Charge In Her Queens Stabbing

QUEENS, NY — The boyfriend of a beloved Queens bartender has been charged with murder in her stabbing death, according to police and reports.

Cops arrested Marcin Pieciak, 36, this week on accusations he fatally stabbed Sarah McNally, 41, inside Ceili House, an Irish pub in Maspeth, police said.

McNally's death prompted an international outpouring of grief, both in and near the Ceili House pub where she worked as a bartender and her native Ireland, according to reports.

An Irish politician representing her native Longford described her as a "wonderful young woman, bright, vivacious, witty and charismatic" who went to the United States "full of hope," according to Irish broadcaster RTE News.

McNally and Pieciak had lived together for several months before the bloody incident Saturday, the New York Post reported.

A man — Pieciak, police contend — walked into the pub with a blade in each hand and stabbed her before turning his knives on himself, the Post report states.

Doctors pronounced McNally dead at Elmhurst Hospital, where Pieciak was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

Pieciak faces two counts of weapon possession, in addition to his murder charge, police said.
