Jamaica Bus Depot Will Be Expanded To Fit More Electric Buses
The remodeled depot, located at 165-18 Tuskegee Airmen Way, will add 60 charging stations to include 60 electric buses.

QUEENS — The Jamaica Bus Depot is expected to finish an expansion to fit more electric buses in the Queens terminal by 2026, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Monday.
The remodeled depot, located at 165-18 Tuskegee Airmen Way, will add 60 charging stations to include 60 electric buses by the summer of 2026. The 134,000-square-foot expansion will allow 270 buses to fit in the terminal.
“Not only will commuters see improved conditions as they wait to board and improved service as they ride, but Queens as a whole will benefit environmentally from the electrification of the depot and the fleet of buses that will use it,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.
