Jamaica Hospital Gets More Than $4 Million For Medical Equipment

The funding, secured by Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, will help install neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery operating room equipment.

QUEENS — Jamaica Hospital Medical Center locked $4.3 million in federal funding for more medical equipment at the facility.

The funding, secured by Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, will help install neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery operating room equipment at the center located at 90-09 Van Wyck Expressway.

“The lifesaving work the medical staff provides is admirable and we want to equip them with the latest technology to continue serving residents and visitors who enter their doors,” Meeks said.

The center will add a robot to help with knee replacements, a surgery table, and a surgical exoscope, among other equipment.
