Just One Queens Hospital Grabs 'A' Safety Grade, New Ranking Finds

QUEENS, NY — A single hospital in Queens got a coveted "A" grade for patient safety in a prestigious new ranking.

Long Island Jewish Forest Hills was one of three hospitals citywide to grab the top rating from Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit that this week released its fall rankings for patient safety.

The Forest Hills hospital also snagged the "A" grade for the second time running.

"This achievement reflects the character and hard work of our staff in providing the highest possible level of care," said Lorraine Chambers Lewis, the hospital's executive director, in a statement.

"From environmental services to patient transporters to nurses and physicians, every member of our team contributes to the quality and safety of our patient care."

The two other New York City hospitals that locked down "A" grades were NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn and NYU Langone Hospitals on First Avenue in Manhattan.
