LIRR Implements 24/7 Service To Mets-Willets Point, Citi Field
LIRR will reinstate full-time, year-round service at Mets-Willets Point station beginning Monday, April 24.

QUEENS — A day after the Mets marked a victory over the Giants, Long Island Rail Road announced New Yorkers will have enhanced service to see the Queens-based team at Citi Field when the players head back east.
LIRR will reinstate full-time, year-round service at Mets-Willets Point station beginning Monday, April 24, the agency announced.
The train will run seven days a week, overnight and on holidays.

“The Long Island Rail Road is an easy and convenient way for our fans to get to the ballpark," said New York Mets owner, Steve Cohen.
Trains at Mets-Willets Point will run at half-hourly intervals most of the time, and more frequently during peak periods. LIRR said it will prepare to run extra trains at the end of events on an "as-needed basis."

Only seven westbound trains will stop at Mets-Willets Point during peak hours (7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.) starting Monday. Eight other trains during peak times will not make the stop.
Between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., 14 peak eastbound trains will stop at Mets-Willets Point. Six other trains will not make the stop.
